PARATRANSIT SERVICE

Transportation service primarily intended to serve individuals with disabilities and older adults. Federal regulations as set by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) require agencies providing fixed-route service to offer complementary paratransit service within 3/4 of a mile of the fixed-route system. Each agency sets its own qualifications and application process for access to their service and is usually intended for passengers who cannot easily access fixed-route services. For Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) for Health First Colorado (Medicaid) members, call IntelliRide at (855) 489-4999 or (970) 225-4850. IntelliRide is the NEMT broker for the state of Colorado.

Dial-a-Taxi

Dial-a-Taxi is a special service available to existing Dial-a-Ride customers in Fort Collins and Loveland. Reservations can be made up to 24 hours in advance of the trip. A Dial-a-Ride customer can receive a taxi voucher worth up to $20. The voucher can be used for trips that go outside of the Dial-a-Ride service area but must originate within the service area. Please note customers are responsible for taxi fares greater than $20.

FIXED-ROUTE SERVICE

Buses which run along an established path at preset times, picking up passengers at designated bus stops. Typically, fixed-route service is characterized by printed schedules or timetables, with designated bus stops where passengers board and alight

The following services use a driver for hire to carry passengers between any two points for a fare determined by a meter or flat rate. Uber and Lyft operate using surge pricing during peak times, like events or holidays. Uber and Lyft do not guarantee to provide ADA-accessible vehicles.

Some services are an added benefit to Uber and Lyft for those who do not have a smart phone or broadband service, while other services allow mobility without the need for motorized options or car ownership.

GoGoGrandparent allows individuals to use Lyft or Uber without a smartphone. Operators can watch riders to ensure they make it to destinations safety, while also keeping family members in the loop. GoGoGrandparent charges a fee per ride.

Smart Ride

Smart Ride allows individuals to order an Uber without a smartphone. Smart Ride is a subscription service, charging $5/month.

Pace Bike Share

Pace Bike Share is a bike-sharing service operating in Fort Collins. Individuals use an App to find a nearby bike, order it, then lock the bike when the trip is complete. Pace bikes can be pay-as-you-go (PAYG) or on monthly plans. Senior discounts are available. Cash can be used, and EBT members receive a monthly discount.

Carsharing

Carsharing options are available on CSU’s campus provided by ZipCar. Information is available at zipcar.com.

All local transit agencies have uploaded schedule and fare information to Google Maps and other platforms.
